We know that studying at the University of Leicester International Study Centre will be a life-changing, exciting experience. To help you on the journey from your home country to the UK, here are a couple of tips what to do on arrival.

Important dates

Your room will be ready from Saturday 9 January 2016
Your term starts at 10:00 on Monday 11 January 2016

At the airport

Fill in the landing card the airline gives you before you arrive.

Once you land you will go through border control, where your passport will be checked. You may also need to have an interview with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

After collecting your luggage and making your way through customs, you will reach the arrivals hall. Welcome to the UK!

Making your way from the airport to St Georges Tower

If you've booked a taxi from Heathrow or Birmingham Airport the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. He or she will be holding a sign with your name and ‘University of Leicester International Study Centre' on it so you will be able to find them easily. They will drive you to your accommodation.

By train - If you are travelling to Leicester Station, St Georges Tower is a two-minute walk away.

By car - If you are arriving by car, you can pull in by the Premier Inn to drop off and unload. For longer term parking, there is an underground pay and display car park in nearby Fox Street.

TOP TIP: Don't forget to call your parents to let them know you’ve arrived safely!
