Develop your employability skills

The International Study Centre is the start of your journey to a successful career.

To help you get there our programmes include a careers service called CareerAhead. The service is set up to help you become a confident, skilled and employable graduate. It aims to give you a head start in today’s competitive graduate job market.

We will guide you towards making the right choices and help you make the best use of your time with us, giving you the best chance of success in the global employment market.

How does CareerAhead work?

You will complete a skills assessment questionnaire. Graduate employers use one just like it. Which skills do you have already? Planning? Organising? The questionnaire will help you recall them. The results of this questionnaire will form the basis of your personal career development plan.

Skills like leadership and organisation transfer well to a professional working environment. You will get the chance to develop key skills like these to make you more employable.

We will teach you how to write a CV and a personal statement that will make you stand out from the crowd. You will also have the chance to improve your presentation and interview skills.

Your personal career development plan is a unique set of assignments that are relevant to the career you want. We will help you develop it in the classroom, in small groups and on an individual basis.
